My term Textile Topologies was the result of being put on the spot once to describe my stitcheries.

What you will see on my site are pictures of my work. I guess that is kind of a stupid thing to say and I apologise for stateing the obvious. I need to let you know that my pictures don't really show you the work. They may hint at the time involved in making one of these.

There is an awful lot of texturing that is an artifact of the ways that the yarn is put on that you just have to see to appreciate. The pictures that I can currently take just can't show this.

My work tends to use a lot of shades of the same colour. It is rough trying to find enough colours. I don't ever seem able to find exactly the right ones. You do with what you have, though. I find myself constantly wanting many more shades of any particular colour that I am working with at the time.

I am self taught at most of this Art thing.
As such, I feel I can be more conscious of what influences me.

I took a couple of drawing classes in college and a jewlery course, those and art 1 in high school is about it for my Art education.

I did a lot of carving in the 1980ies, when I took my Art courses. I made sure that I woulden't be taught what I was doing at the time. I don't know if that is arrogance or just that I don't want to do art that someone else has already developed. You know, here I am getting all mentally tied up. I don't know if there is work out there like what I doContact me. Some of my work I will sell.
My stitcheries kind of grab ones attention.
