Working on a picture that was similar to one I had already done was a first for me.
During the ice storm in 2000, I took pictures of the two big oak trees in my yard.

The first stitchery was of the tree in my front yard. I had looked up at it when the clouds had cleared and the sky was that bright blue that shades into a darker blue as your eyes scan upwards. When I saw the tree, I knew it was going to be a stitchery.

It was just an after thought to take a picture of the tree in my back yard. I liked the balance of it's shape better than the front yard tree.

The pictures I took were so similar that I had to check them out on several occasions to make sure I had the right photo. This delighted me. The stitcheries will be similar to each other, and I would really like it if someone in the future mistook one for the other, just like I did with the photos.

Ice in Monroe in 00
I did this stitchery in late winter/early spring of 2000. Revisiting the colors on Iced Tree is a first for me.
Iced Tree

On this piece, I was stymied for a long time by not being able to find the exact color for the sky, so a process of overstitching took place. Frusting it was.
