Yep, The images take some time to load. They show the progress of days of intense, but enjoyable stitching.
Chives G began as a quick filler work between Stevia and Attila The Hum. It progressed at a much faster rate than I had expected. This I blame on my enjoyment of the work and an anxiousness to see the finished work. Sometimes it goes like that. I have it in the back of my mind to do another version of the piece. This would concentrate more on the flower heads and their stems. I will see how the stitching of the winter turns out. As of now I have a lot of good ideas for stitcheries and that kind of puts the reworking of ideas on a back burner. Of course, I try not to think about what I am going to do next until the last minute so that I don't loose concentration from the work in progress.

CHIVES G Work as of 9-22-00

CHIVES G 9-25-00 Taken without a flash, so colours are a bit different from the previous picture.
CHIVES G 9-27-00 A lot of hard to see stitching occured inbetween the last picture and this one. Hard to tell isn't it.
CHIVES G completed about 9-30-00
To the left is a detail of Chives G

In my garden I have a garlic chive weed problem. I thought about weeding them out before they could go to seed this year. I went out to crop them and found them covered in honey bees. I gave the bees a break and amused myself with the thought that some bee keeper would find his honey tasting like garlic.

The flowers of the chives made such a wounderful pattern though that I took some pictures and thought to make a quick stitchery inbetween Stevia and a sculpture that I had planed to do. As I got into the Chive G stitchery I discovered that I was getting some good texturing going. Once I discovered the texturing, I found that I had two ideas, running in my mind for the stitchery. I decided to make the texturing the important focus of this work and plan on doing another one sometime in the future that will be more centered around the other idea that was going.
